An evaluation of cool season turfgrassess in order to identify the species and varieties most suitable for the Mediterranean environment

The cultivars of cool season Graminae species diffusely used to establish turfgrasses, are grown in northern areas of Europe. The aim of the research described in this paper was to identify the turfgrass species and cultivars most suitable for the Mediterranean environment. The trial was carried out in 1999 and 2000 at the experimental farm “Parco d’Orleans” belonging to the Department A.C.E.P. of University of Palermo. Effect of the extensional flow on the properties of oriented nanocomposite films for twist wrapping

In this study, we examined the mechanical behavior of nanocomposite films based on polyethylene (PE) and pristine PE films. The films were prepared by film blowing and were then cold-drawn at low temperature. The experimental results show that cold drawing significantly enhanced the orientation; with increasing draw ratio (DR), the elastic modulus and tensile strength of the PE films strongly increased, particularly in the presence of the organoclay. To obtain polymeric films suitable for twist wrapping, the films must be sufficiently stiff so that no shrinkage or elastic recovery occur during or after twisting. Patterning of supported gold monolayers via chemical lift-off lithography

The supported monolayer of Au that accompanies alkanethiolate molecules removed by polymer stamps during chemical lift-off lithography is a scarcely studied hybrid material. We show that these Au–alkanethiolate layers on poly(dimethylsiloxane) (PDMS) are transparent, functional, hybrid interfaces that can be patterned over nanometer, micrometer, and millimeter length scales. Työkulttuurien jännitteitä koulutusyhteisöissä

Tarkastelemme artikkelissa jännitteitä koulutusyhteisöjen työkulttuureissa. Lähestymme aihetta opettajankoulutuksen kehittämiseen orientoituneesta koulutusmallista valmistuneiden opettajien kokemusten avulla. Tutkimuksen empiirisenä aineistona on 13 puolistrukturoitua yksilöhaastattelua, jotka kerättiin koulutusmalliin osallistuneilta opettajilta. Teoriasidonnaisessa sisällönanalyysissa keskityttiin yhteisön työkulttuuriin etsien myös sen vaikeammin havaittavia elementtejä, Scheinin (2017) sanoin perusolettamuksia.

Yliopistotyö on esimerkki uuden työn muodoista, joissa työ kiinnittyy aiempaa vahvemmin yksilöön. Samalla vastuu työelämän vaatimuksiin yltämisestä siirtyy työntekijälle itselleen. Työyhteisön ristiriitatilanteissa organisaation ongelmat sisäistyvät työntekijän yksityisiksi ja tunne-elämän ongelmiksi.
Kliinisestä harjoittelusta työssäoppimiseen ja yhteistyötiimeihin

Terveysalan työharjoittelun toteutumista on arvosteltu siitä, että oppilaitokset panostavat entistä vähemmän työharjoittelun ohjaukseen ja harjoittelupaikkojen kanssa tehtävään yhteistyöhön. Harjoittelussa perinteiset työtavat ja vallitseva työkulttuuri siirretään kritiikittömästi opiskelijoille. Koulun antamat tiedot ja harjoittelupaikan edellyttämät taidot eivät kohtaa. Artikkelissa luodaan näkymiä uudenlaiseen työssäoppimiseen tehostamalla koulun ja työpaikkojen välistä yhteistyötä.
